Uniform
School Uniform Policy
Ixworth High School requires all students to wear our full school uniform. Our uniform helps our students to feel part of our school community and has been chosen to be comfortable and appropriate for the activities they will undertake during the school day. we have designed our uniform to have a business like appearance. In most career paths,, a uniform of some description is required and enforced by the mangers and leaders in that setting. therefore, students wearing our uniform are preparing for that expectation later in life. Furthermore, when wearing our uniform, many of our students have expressed how confident and proud they feel when comparing themselves to other uniforms.
Full school uniform is expected to be worn at all times including both to and from the school.
If items of uniform are missing for genuine reasons, parents are requested to contact the tutor with the reason and a date for possible resolution, a uniform pass will then be issued. Should this not occur, the schools behaviour policy will be applied appropriately and may include but not limited to; correction before entering the site, removing students from social time until the uniform is corrected, Internal exclusion.
Government guidance on the cost of school uniforms
In the Autumn of 2021, the government issued new guidance to schools on uniform. The aim of this guidance is to minimise the cost of uniform for parents through a reduction in school branded items, allowing parents to purchase uniform from a wider range of suppliers.
Ixworth High School and the Sapientia Education Trust fully support making school uniform affordable and accessible for all children, and we have reviewed and changed our school uniform to reflect the requirements outlined in the statutory guidance.
